About

Vail Resorts is recognized world-wide for their exclusive and unparalleled ski and snowsport resorts throughout North America and Australia. The brand owns and operates notable resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Whistler, and Park City. It also owns and manages a vibrant portfolio of luxury hotels, condominiums and other prime real estate surrounding their resort communities.

The Challenge

Each year, it takes a small army (20,000+) of seasonal new hires to effectively run the 19 properties in this premium resort and lodging portfolio. But to find, recruit, inspire and support the uniquely passionate individuals who most accurately reflect the revered brand has historically been incredibly challenging.

Our Approach

Vail’s employment program runs consistently 24-7, 365 days a year. Not just during the run-up to the ski season.

As a result, we needed to work closely with the company’s internal marketing & brand, development, and HR recruitment teams to understand what initiatives they had in place, including external career databases, as well as the flexibility they might extend to offering new messaging, promotions, and web branding.

The Solution

Our strong, active partnership with the company’s brand and digital marketing teams help us gain quick footing, which we used to research and define the spirit of their organization and its core organizing idea.

Inspired by the brand DNA we uncovered, we crafted a new messaging system and campaigns targeted to reach a rare caliber of self-directed snow sport aficionados seeking an employment experience of a lifetime.

With the new brand collateral being prepared for promotion across digital and campus outlets, our focus then turned to planning, writing, and designing Vail’s new recruitment-focused web brand, which we developed in parternship with the organization’s internal development team in true agile fashion.

Vail’s new employment site serves as the responsive hub for the company’s year-round and seasonal recruiting strategy, as well as serving current employees with increased access to new employment opportunity postings, and benefit information.
